My Story
Background
My journey began at UC Berkeley (2011-2014), where I developed a deep fascination with turning abstract ideas into tangible experiences. What started as academic curiosity evolved into a multifaceted career spanning technology journalism, venture capital, and hands-on development.
Early in my career, I dove into technology journalism, serving as a reporter at Business Insider (2013-2014) and later writing for TechCrunch and Wired. My coverage spanned emerging technologies, startup innovations, and the creative possibilities of virtual reality. I've continued sharing insights through my writing on Medium and my Substack newsletter "Collisions," where I explore the intersection of technology and human experience.
I later joined Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) as a venture capitalist, where I worked with Chris Dixon (early investor in Oculus, Coinbase) to invest in startups building "emerging computing platforms" in virtual/augmented reality, drones, robotics, and machine learning. This role deepened my understanding of what drives successful product development and market fit in cutting-edge technologies.
Combining these insights with my passion for building, I've had the privilege of founding venture-backed companies, including Playbyte, which raised $4M and reached over 100,000 users. I also joined Skydio, where I built developer platforms for autonomous drone programming, complete with browser-based 3D simulators. Later, I founded Transform.dev, where I explored how AI could democratize app creation, allowing anyone to build prototypes through natural language.
Throughout this journey, I've remained passionate about working with cutting-edge technologies—from AI coding agents to VR hardware. My experience across writing, investing, and building has taught me that the best way to understand emerging tech is to build with it, push its boundaries, and discover what's truly possible.
Current Focus
Today, I'm exploring AI agent collaboration, experimenting with life simulation games, and helping teams rapidly prototype their most ambitious ideas. Whether it's integrating cutting-edge AI or building interactive experiences, I love turning concepts into reality.
Philosophy
I believe the best way to understand an idea is to build it. That's why I focus on creating working demos that you can touch, interact with, and experience. From startup speed to corporate scale, I help bring visions to life.
